Lior did a biography about William Blake, he is a poet. Meteb did William Shakesspeare.

On Thursday we didn't have school because it was teachers training. They had the day off from us.

Monday there was a fire in the park and it was very smokey....it was also teacher appreciation day. We gave the teachers a massage and we fed Ms Anna grapes. Ms Anna shared cookies and brownies with us at the end of the day.

We started out new unit of inquiry about beliefs. We will tell you more about it next time!

Pyjama day and biographies

This week and last week we have been working on biographies. Each of us picked a person that we we want to write about. We could do a poem, a book, a comic and even puppet shows!!! When we were done with our projects we sat round the campfire ( by that I mean carpet ) and shared our work. We added pictures, colorings and drawings to make our masterpieces more masterpiece-ish.

Although it was fun making the stuff and laughing and all, one day we had to actually present them. Everybody (naturally) was nervous. We had the option to invite two people to see it, one, or even none. A bunch of people were there that no one bothered to count, and we were all horrified! As what people say, everything has a first step. Meshary stepped up and started talking. We all listened to what a fascinating biography he had about his mother.

There were many cheers and and applause and it will always fade as the next person stepped up. Then there will be cheering again, clapping and the whole cycle repeats....... After the presentation ended we were all happy to have gotten it over with.

We still weren't finished with biographies though. Now we had to pick people from the past to learn about. Some picked Darwin, Einstein, Alexandra and many other countless people. We went to the local Marylebone library to find some books on the people we picked. We couldn't find any books for some students so we got them from our school library. Next stage, (obviously) work.

We had to read our books, and find out what got this person famous. Like what he did, his personal details and what he did for the society. The benefit of this is that we earned many class points along the way because of our good work, earned more knowledge about the past and we all learned group work. On the last day of the week we had a special Pyjama day where everyone would give in a pound to be in pyjamas. It looked like everyone had a major sleep over at school last night! It has been a very fun week, but I'm afraid this post is over and this is where I say, Goodbye!
